Day 5 - I'm Thankful for my Job!

I have been working in the real estate industry for the last 15 years. Not sure why God has me still here, but trust me I am thankful. I have had titles such as Real Estate Closing Assistant, Paralegal, Mortgage Closer, Mortgage Auditor, Mortgage Processor, Post Closing Assistant, and Title Reviewer. Through this "journey", I have been laid off twice. Both due to downsizing of the company. The first layoff, I was out of work for 4 months. The second layoff, I was out of work for 11 months. That one was difficult because I was starting to give up that I couldn't find a job. Then, I was trying to force myself into another career choice. Still working on that one, so I haven't given up on that. Thankfully, the job I was at back in 2012 & 2013 reached out to me and asked me if I wanted to come back to the office. That was a blessing right there.  So, I returned back to doing real estate closings in May 2015.

I am a Real Estate Closing Assistant for Smith Closing and Title, LLC. I enjoy what I do and I enjoy the helping people. Some of the smiles and compliments I received when I close a file is so worth it. I guess that's why I've been doing it for so long. I really do enjoy helping people. No, I'm not an attorney but I am a Notary Public for the state of Alabama and I can perform closings. It's not easy, but it's a job. I can honestly say now that I remember when I didn't have a job and that was hard. Thankfully with my husband's income, we were still on track but I just didn't like putting all of that pressure on him financially. Yes, I am that type of wife that don't mind helping her husband so he can feel at ease sometimes. We are a team!!

Of course, I have other side jobs as well, but this one is my main one.
