Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is the expression of gratitude, especially to God. This is the time of the year that we spend with family and friends giving thanks to God for them and other things that surrounds our life. So many things have taken place this year before today and for us to all be alive and well and able to celebrate today, is truly a blessing. Take the time today to really show your love and appreciation to God and to your family members. You never know when they won't be here any more. Enjoy today! Don't worry about what happened yesterday! Tomorrow is not promised! Live for today! Today is the day when America gives extra "thanks" to God for the many great things that he has done. Honestly, everyday is a day of Thanksgiving, we just do it a little extra on today :-)!

Enjoy the food. Enjoy the football games. Enjoy the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. Enjoy the company. Enjoy the time. Enjoy LIFE in ITSELF!!!

From my family to yours, wishing you a BLESSED THANKSGIVING!

Getting ready for the holidays...

YES they are FINALLY HERE...the THANKSGIVING & CHRISTMAS holiday season!! Can you tell that I am excited?!?!? I absolutely love this time of the year. My household is exciting this year. My husband and son deer hunts and I get the house prepared for the decoration. I mean hey they provide the meat and I provide the comfort!! lol

Just a few of things I prepare for my preparation of the holidays: (lol Yes I am an organizing freak)

1) Go through each room and decide how you want each room to look.  If you have a set theme or how you want your decorations to look, you would pretty much You don't one theme in one room and something different in another room. Let's not confused the guests better yet, the people that live in the home! :-)

2) Lights, lights, and more lights!!! Yes! I like to have lights on the mantle, around the border going into the next room, in the centerpieces and in the bedroom! I will tell you about the lights in the bedroom later :-). Don't over power one extension cord and/or outlet with several cords of lights. Take advantage of a power surge cord or the outlets that have multiples that you can plug into one. You also don't want to increase your power bill. So look for the energy saver items. Heyyyy, there are small ways you can still save during the holidays and you all know that I am about SAVING especially MONEY! :-)

3) Decide if you are going to post any holiday gatherings. You control that. Don't let anyone force that on you. If you choose to make one, download and print the Holiday To Do List  from the printables page and it can help you out. Now, don't over due the list to wear yourself out. If you are like me you hate to forget something important and then you are beating yourself up because you forgot it and now you are all over the place panicking. Yes that is me. That is why I have paper every where to write down things now. The mind is not what it use to be. lol. Make sure you add on that list an item to help you relax and clear your mind in the midst of preparing for the holiday gathering.

4) Room deodorizers. Now, my personal favorite aroma for this time of year is a pumpkin/vanilla spice (for Thanksgiving) and an apple crisp (for Christmas). Don't get something that will burn your nose and eyes or better yet, make you or your guests sneeze a lot! If you do plug in (Glade, Air Wick) make sure you get the same throughout each room. What I personally do with my plug ins is I have one in my living room, my kitchen, all the bedrooms, and the bathroom. If you have the same scent in each room, once you clean, leave the doors open and watch how the aroma catch each other as if they are in all of the rooms. If you burn candles, space those out as well and make sure they are in an area of where the fire is not going to catch something and burn it. We are already focus on not burning the food. Of course we don't want to burn down the house from a scented candle.

5) Food storage! I hate pilling all of the pots and pans in the refrigerator just to store food! Noooooo! Get the tupperware and put it in there! I personally love this company's product, Ziplock and I have tons of it. Hey you can never get enough of food storage containers. Use these for storing your holiday left overs and you will love the fact of quality of storage and how easy it is.

Last but not least,

6) Fresh flowers! I love fresh flowers. I have a bunch right now on my living room table. They just make the room look so bright and beautiful. You pick the right color and watch how it lightens up the room.

It's so much more that you can add on the list. But this should give you a head start. My list is made and I am starting now checking things off and I am very comfortable with it.

Off we go to the cheerful season!!!!

Until next time, SMOOCHES!

Voting Day is here!

Today is the mid-term election day. It doesn't matter the party you vote for, just make sure you get out and vote. Forget about party purposes, it matters about the person and if you really think they can get the job done. It also doesn't matter about color. This nation is so based on color and party, they forget the main for what is right!

If you don't know where your voting poll is, contact your local revenue office. If you don't have a ride, contact the local bus station for routes or carpool with someone. If you have to work, as your employer can you leave to go vote and go right back to your job ;-)! Don't come up with an excuse of why you can't you vote because you really would not have a right to say anything against the results. Please make your voice heard and I promise you, you won't be disappointed.

Until next time...SMOOCHES!
